Ego Productions was formed in 1995 after David Macklin and Jeff Bidgood had worked together on My Fair Lady as "Higgins" and Director respectively. The two men met for the first time six months earlier and have forged a friendship and a company that has gone from strength to strength.

Ego Productions was formed to produce one show, a show that both men had seen in the 70s and a show that both of them loved. The show was "They're Playing Our Song" which was produced to great local acclaim in 1996.

The success of this venture has provided the imputus for other theatrical works so Ego Productions lives on.
